  • Unified Platform: Creates a single environment for patient acquisition apps and EMR management, hosted on high-performance Google Cloud servers for Platinum tier users. 

Service Tiers & Support

  • Free Installation: PatientGain offers free installation of OpenEMR for customers on their PLATINUM and PLATINUM+ service plans.
  • Support Limits: While basic installation is included, PatientGain typically refers practices to specialized IT companies for in-depth OpenEMR customization or charges extra fees for advanced system support. 

OpenEMR Native Portal Capabilities

In addition to PatientGain’s external tools, OpenEMR itself includes a “Native Patient Portal” that supports: 

  • Self-Registration: Patients can register themselves, though version 6.1.0+ requires a Google reCAPTCHA V2 key for security.
  • Patient Access: Allows patients to view visit summaries, lab results, billing history, and request prescription refills.
