Medical SEO Keywords

Medical SEO Using Secondary Keywords

This strategy is often overlooked. Here we show you examples of increasing your patients and improving your medical seo.

First, understand that Google algorithms are based on providing value to your patient. The patient could be an existing patient or a potential patient. Medical SEO keywords are the foundation of your success. Once you have finished your research and competitive analysis, then you you have to decide the on the following:

  1. Primary keywords – these keywords are the most import keywords for your practice. Each keyword does not produce the same number of customers/patients for you.  Some keywords are “empty” meaning that they may look “good” but will not produce actual patients for your medical practice.  So be careful when you decide which keywords are primary. For example “top tmj specialist in usa”  may be very important for your medical practice.  Now compare this with “best tmj clinics in usa” – which of this 2 search terms produce more customers for you? .  There is a difference in the conversion.  It is easy to get clicks, it is difficult to get conversion.
  2. Secondary keywords are related to primary keywords and they support your primary keywords. They are often overlooked. However they will have usually have less competition and hence you could get better ROI from these keywords.  For example “best dental franchise in usa” may not be your primary keyword, but it can have a big impact on your business.

Example 1. Secondary Medical SEO Keyword example

In this example, the primary keyword is “urgent care near me el cajon ca”  – however, they also see patients who are under 21 years of age.  Approximately 17 percent to 21 percentage of the patients in an urgent care are under the age of 21. Hence “pediatric urgent care” is alos a very useful keyword.
