How to remove ZocDoc from Google My Business, Google Business Profile

Google My Business, now known as Google Business Profile, is a free tool that lets businesses manage their online presence on Google Search and Google Maps. It allows owners to create a custom profile displaying business information, photos, services, and hours, helping customers find, connect with, and learn about local businesses. The profile also features customer reviews, offers promotional posts, and provides performance insights to help businesses engage with their audience and improve their local search rankings. 

ZocDoc uses its integration and can add “Book Now” to your Google Business Profile page, hence diverting your direct leads to it’s proprietary closed platform. Then if the patient is classified as a “New Patient”, it can bill you any where from $65 to $192 per appointment.

Step 1: Remove the ZocDoc Book Now from your Google Business Profile

  1. Open your Business Profile by searching for your exact business name on Google Search.
  2. Select the Booking option.
  3. Find Zocdoc in the list of providers and select Remove Provider. 

Step 2: You can also do this through Google Maps:

  1. Open the Google Maps app and tap Edit profile.
  2. Select Booking and then Remove Provider. 

Step 3: Wait for the changes to take effect

The third-party booking provider, Zocdoc, is responsible for removing its integration with Google within five business days of your request. It can take up to 72 hours for the changes to fully propagate and for the Zocdoc link to disappear from your Business Profile. 

Step 4: What to do if the link remains

  • Follow up with Zocdoc. If the link persists after five business days, contact Zocdoc support and remind them of your request.
  • Report a violation to Google. If Zocdoc fails to act after a reasonable amount of time, you can file a complaint with Google to report a third-party policy violation.
  • Escalate in the Google Business Profile forum. If you continue to have trouble, you can seek help from experts and volunteers in the official community forum

Step 5: What to do if the link remains / Disable from ZocDoc

  1. Log in to Zocdoc: Access your Zocdoc provider account.
  2. Go to Settings: Find and click on the Settings menu.
  3. Locate Google Listing Availability: Scroll down to the Practice section to find Google Listing Availability.
  4. Turn Off: Select off to disable bookings from your Google profile.
  5. Save: Click Save to apply the changes.
