What is the difference between PatientGain Custom PLATINUM Service VS Standard PLATINUM Service?
PatientGain Standard PLATINUM Service is used by about 90% of our customers. It is based on thousands of A/B tested designs, workflows and conversion tactics. It has extremely high success rate but it does not give you complete freedom to make “any change I like”. It requires 12 month contract and there is no upfront fee. At the end of the contract, you purchase the WordPress website (but not the apps), or you can continue the service, or simply cancel and walk away.
PatientGain Custom PLATINUM Service is typically selected by those customers who would like specific design elements, and want to add specific apps to the website, and do not mind paying for the custom setup. Typical cost of setting up custom website is around $10K – However it could be as low as $7K – or be higher, it basically depends on your exact requirements. You own the website, we build it on WordPress and you can host it anywhere you like. You can either use PatientGain PLATINUM apps or any other apps.
The primary difference between the two tiers is the balance between creative control and conversion optimization.
The Standard PLATINUM Service uses pre-tested, conversion-optimized, A/B-tested layouts built for maximum lead generation. The Custom PLATINUM Service builds a bespoke website from scratch based entirely on your specific branding preferences, though it requires a steep upfront fee.

Choosing the Right Tier
- Choose Standard PLATINUM if you want to launch quickly, avoid heavy upfront costs, and trust data-backed layouts that are scientifically proven to convert visitors into patients.
- Choose Custom PLATINUM if you are a multi-location clinic, have rigid corporate branding guidelines, or require a highly unique aesthetic layout that standard templates cannot accommodate. There are costs for custom setup.
Does PatientGain offers full custom websites?
Yes, PatientGain does offer fully custom websites—but they actually actively discourage most clinics from buying them. While PatientGain have a dedicated development team that will build a 100% bespoke, ground-up website based exactly on your aesthetic preferences, they are very transparent about the fact that custom sites mathematically underperform compared to their standard packages.
If you specifically want a fully custom build through PatientGain, they offer two main paths:
1. Fully Custom Website (Standalone Build)
This option is for clinics that want PatientGain to build a bespoke website, but do not necessarily want to subscribe to their ongoing monthly software ecosystem.
- The Cost: Pricing typically starts at a $10,000 one-time fee for a single-location healthcare practice (prices increase for complex or multi-location builds).
- The Setup: You provide the design feedback, and their team builds it. Once completed, you own the site and can host it yourself or hire another company for your monthly marketing.
2. Custom Website + PLATINUM Service
This is for clinics that want the bespoke, luxury design of a custom build, but still want access to PatientGain’s suite of 20+ HIPAA-compliant apps (like the AI chatbot, SPOC unified inbox, and automated review generators).
- The Cost: You pay a large upfront capital expense for the custom design phase—typically starting around $7,000 to $10,000+—plus the $1,699 per month subscription for the ongoing PLATINUM software and management.
The Catch: Why They Discourage Custom Builds
If you request a custom website, PatientGain will likely try to talk you out of it and point you back toward their standard “semi-custom” PLATINUM offering (which usually has a $0 upfront build fee). Here is why:
- Subjective Art vs. Conversion Math: PatientGain’s standard websites are based on over 10 years of aggressive A/B testing in the healthcare space. They know exactly where a button needs to be to get a sick patient to click it. A custom website is based on your subjective “gut feel” of what looks pretty.
- Lower ROI: Because custom sites abandon proven layouts in favor of unique aesthetics, PatientGain’s own data shows that their custom builds typically yield a patient conversion rate of around 4.2%, whereas their standard, A/B tested PLATINUM sites consistently convert at 10% or higher.
- Time to Launch: A standard PLATINUM site can usually go live in about 30 days. A bespoke custom build involves heavy back-and-forth design approvals and usually takes 2 to 4 months (or longer) before you can launch.
In short: Yes, PatientGain will build you a fully custom website if you have the budget and the desire for total creative control, but you are trading immediate patient volume and speed-to-market for a unique visual aesthetic.
