How To Write A Good Yelp Review
Step 1: Accessing Yelp to Write a Review
In order to write a review for any business on Yelp, you will first need to either create an account or log into your existing account. In order to create an account click on the “Sign Up for Yelp” link that is located in the top right corner of your screen, above the Yelp Search bar. This will take you to the Account creation page, where you can register your account.
If you already have an existing Yelp account, the “Log In” link located in the top right corner of the screen will take you to the Log In page. On this page, you enter your Yelp username and password in order to access your “Welcome” page.
Step 2: Creating a New Account
If you clicked on the “Sign Up for Yelp” link, you will now find yourself on the “Create Your Yelp Profile” page. On this page, enter the name you want your account to be listed under, as well as the email address you want linked to your account and your account’s password. Entering your zip code allows Yelp to show you new offers or reviews for businesses located near you.
Next, you have the option of adding a profile picture, which you can import directly from your Facebook page. If you don’t want to add a photo right now, just click the “Skip this step” link in the top right hand corner of the page, and you can add a picture to your account later.
You now have the option of importing your Email contact list or Facebook friends, which allows you to connect with them on Yelp. By connecting with your friends, you can see the reviews they are writing, and get informed about local businesses you might be interested in. You can skip this step if you’re not interested by clicking on the “Skip this section” link in the upper right corner of the page.
Step 3: Finding the Business You Want to Review
After you have logged into your Yelp account, you will find yourself on your Welcome page. This page serves as your home page for when you’re on Yelp. In order to write a review, begin by clicking on the “Write a Review” tab located under the search bar at the top of the page.
This will bring you to a search page, where you fill in the name of the business you want to review, along with its location, in the designated search boxes. After you’ve entered the correct information, hit the “Search Businesses” button to bring up a list of businesses from which you can select the specific business you wish to review.
From the Search Results page, write a review for your desired business by clicking on the “Write a Review” box located to the right of the business’s listing. This will take you to the “Complete My Review” page, where you can create and post your review.
Step 4: Writing Your Review
On the “Complete Your Review” page, you can assign a rating for the business by moving your mouse over the Rating box and selecting how many stars you think the business deserves. You can also write any comments you have about your service experience or the business itself in the “your Review” box.
Once you’re done creating your review, simply hit the “Post” button to post your review to the business’s Yelp page. Yelp saves your review drafts, so if you don’t have time to finish writing or posting your review, you can safely exit and come back to your review the next time you log into your account.
